UNSMIL Deplores Death of Children in Benghazi Explosion.

Rome, 4 May 2016(Lana) The UN Coordinator of Humanitarian Affairs
and Deputy Special Envoy of the UN Secretary General to Libya Ali Al
Za'atri has deeply regretted the death of 3 children and the wounding
of another in an explosion in Benghazi on Monday.
In statements carried by the Italian Aki news agency, Al Za'atri
said he offered his condolences to the families of the victims,
urging residents of Benghazi to be cautious, in areas of fighting,
for mines, explosives and war remnants which posed real threat to
civilians, according to a statement released by the United Nations
Support Mission in Libya UNSMIL.
UNSMIL warned civilians in combat areas of danger and urged them to
keep away until they have been secured by explosive experts. It also
appealed to the warring factions to refrain from planting mines and
other types of explosives of incendiary nature in line with the
requirements of the International Humanitarian Law.'
