Second Meeting of International Contact Group for Libya Held in Addis Ababa.

Tripoli, 28 January 2015(Lana) The second meeting of the
International Contact Group for Libya was held in Addis Ababa on
Wednesday to discuss international effort to help this country end
its crisis.
The AU's Peace and Security Council Chief Ismail al-Sharqawi
underlined the importance of agreement by the international community
to end the Libyan crisis.
Bernardino Leon, the UN Special Envoy to Libya did not attend the
meeting, because he was engaged with the Libyan parties at the
dialogue session in Geneva, al-Sharqawi said.
'The meeting is a chance to assess the situation in Libya, and
to review efforts aimed at overcoming the challenges, he said, adding
that while the picture looked grim in Libya, there were positive
developments to take the country out of its crisis.
He stressed AU preparedness to help UN efforts to resolve the
Libyan crisis.
The Contact Group includes 16 Arab and European countries in
addition to the UN, the Arab League and the African Union.
