Tripoli, 11.02.2016(Lana) Head of Investigations at Attorney
General's Office, Al-Sadiq Al- Saour expected Thursday
finalizing investigations into the Abusaleem massacre that took
place on 28 and 29 June 1996 and that action would be taken within
one month.
At a press conference Thursday he announced that members of the
prosecution assigned to investigate the case, began investigations
with over 150 suspects who were detained for accusation of
perpetrating developments in connection with the case.
Al- Saour revealed that all details of the case has now become
clear to the investigators and the facts would be submitted to the
judiciary in the coming days. he said 18 defendants were released
Wednesday who were not involved in the case, and previously 15 others
were also set free.
he also reviewed at the press conference issues followed up by
the attorney general including cases of terrorism confirming that
there are 300 defendants with the security bodies . He said out of
concern for the correct procedure to be followed the Attorney
General's Office assigned a committee of police and intelligence
officers and investigation experts to investigate these cases and
indeed they started their investigations to ascertain the crimes and
ensure that due and safe course of procedure has been adopted in
order that such criminal bandits don't escape penalties.
he also pointed out to many other cases and serious crimes such
as kidnappings, blackmail, robbery, acknowledging that there are now
gangs use crime for profiteering.

renowned cases such as the children of Al-Rashrash. he also said the
Attorney General's Office is investigating the case of forging
salaries of revolutionaries which were referred from Criminal
Investigations in Abusaleem, saying many people were detained for
investigations and would be referred to the courts next week.
