Head of Local Council of Sirte Places Wreath on Monument of Al Gordhabiya Martyrs on 100th Anniversary.

Sirte, 29 April 2105(Lana) The Head of the Sirte Local Council
and members of the council along with notables of the area have
attended an event to mark the 100th anniversary of the famous Al
Gordhabiya Battle which Libyan fought against Italian colonial
forces.
The Head of the Council placed a wreath on the monument of the
martyrs.
The participants also called at the cemetery of the martyrs of
the battle where they paid their respects and recited verses of the
Holy Qur'an.
The Battle of Al Gordhabiya took place between Libyan freedom
fighters and Italian colonial forces on 28-29 April 1915.
