Sirt, 25.03.2015(Lana) The Notables and dignitaries of Sirt tribes held a meeting during which they discussed the current situation in the city, this was under the supervision of the Sirt Sage and Shoura Council. The notables and dignitaries of the Sirt tribes emphasized that dialogue is the foundation of the political solution to end the bloodshed and spare the city scourges of war and destruction. In a statement issued following the meeting, the notables and dignitaries declared that the city of Sirt renounces extremism and violence in any form and emphasized that residents of the city will not leave their city and they will raise the white banners to express their rejection of the war. They also called on the warring parties and armed groups to leave the administrative borders of the city. The Head of the Sage and Shoura Council, Muftah Marzouq, told Lana that the residents decided to stage a sit-in following the Friday Asr prayer at the martyrs square in rejection of the armed manifestations, and declared Sirt as the city of peace. = Lana =
