GNC condemns criminal attack on Tripoli's Corinthia Hotel Tripoli, 27.

01.2015(Lana) The GNC has condemned the criminal
attack that targeted Tripoli's Corinthia Hotel Tuesday, and which
claimed several Libyan and foreign lives. It considered that the
attack an attempt to destabilize and undermine security of the
capital.
The GNC expressed condolences to the families of Libyan victims
and foreign nationals. It urged the Government of National Salvation
and security apparatus to shoulder their responsibilities in the face
of this development.
In its statement, the GNC, however, reassured the Libyans and
the international community that this incident would not destabilize
and undermine security of the capital.
President of the GNC held an extraordinary meeting with members
of the GNC's Security and Defense Committee, head of the Interior
Supreme Council and Head of intelligence to learn about the details
of the incident.
GNC President underlined the need to speed up opening of
criminal and security investigations to identify the identity of the
assailants and expose them to the Libyan and international public
opinion, and work for securing the capital and all Libyan cities and
take stringent security measures to prevent the repetition of such
security breaches.
