01.2015 (Lana) United Nations Support Mission in
Libya( UNSMIL) announced a new round of national dialogue among
Libyan parties in Geneva Monday.
In a statement, UNSMIL said this call came after intensive
consultations with all Libyan sides concerned with the crisis, noting
that the round is in line with the main political track that kicked
off at the UN headquarters in Geneva January 14, and 15.
ِA separate track of dialogue would bring together representatives of
municipal and local councils from cities and towns from across the
country to discuss confidence building measures, it added.
The statement pointed out that UNSMIL intends later on to launch
other tracks to include political parties' representatives, social
and tribal figures as well as armed groups.
UNSMIL appealed to all Libyan sides and invited participants to
deal with such talks aimed at ending the political and security
crisis faced by Libya with the spirit of openness and reconciliation
guided by the supreme national interest of the Libyan people.
