Assistant deputy at Foreign Ministry meets with director of UNICEF

\nTripoli, 27.02.2014(Lana) The Assistant deputy at Foreign Ministry, Wafa Buqaqis, met Thursday with director of UNICEF regional office for the Middle East and North Africa, Maria Kalvis.\nThe meeting focused on activation the future cooperation within the framework of permanent partnership for protection of children rights and help in responding to their basic needs.\nBuqaqis told Lana that the meeting dwelt on reviewing and discussing a host of issues on children needs from the prospective of child protection law, capacity building, and preparing reports on child right agreement in order to activate it in Libya and help the Constituent Assembly in terms of children and their rights in the constitution.\nSome programmes carried out by UNICEF in Libya in cooperation with the Ministry\'s Local Government were also reviewed, she added.\nShe also pointed out that work is underway to construct 13 model playing grounds for children in various cities. She also said UNICEF activities in education and ways to promote its role at this stage in Libya was reviewed.\n=Lana=\n
