Saila Calls on International Community to Collaborate with Libya in the fight against Illegal migration, and confirms that there will be no place for settling migrants in Libya.

Tripoli, 22 February 2018 (Lana) A meeting was held at the Foreign Ministry headed by Foreign Minister, Mohamed Saila, and attended by AUC Commissioner for Social Affairs, Amira Al Fadhal, Eu ambassador to Libya, Bettina Muscheidt , General Director of EU Neighborhood Policy and Expansion Negotiation, Deputy Director General for Economy and Global Issues at the EU, Deputy Director General for Migration and Internal Affairs, several Libyan officials from Illegal Migration Prevention Authority, directors of departments of the foreign ministry concerned with migration issues. The meeting focused on discussing the phenomenon and its repercussions on Libya, contribution of the international community to help Libya confront the phenomena. In his speech at the outset of the meeting the Foreign Minister stressed that Libya offered all requirements and still offering assistance to migrants detained at detention centres despite the lack of any support from the international community in this respect, pointing out Libya's collaboration with all delegations visiting these centers. Saila explained that Libyan laws criminalize entry into Libyan territories without visa, renewing that Libyan society is against settling refugees in Libya. Commenting on past reports of abuse of migrants, Saila underscored that investigations proved that Libyans treat migrants as gusts, and some breaches are under investigations, as there will be no place for human trafficking in Libya. he said the Attorney General will issue warrant against whoever may be suspected of involvement in abuse of refugees. Saila said Libya has nothing to hide from the international community as far as illegal migration is concerned and that detention centres are open to all regional and international organizations. He called on the international community to stand by Libya to address the problem with impact on all and to convince northern countries help Libya in creating electronic monitoring system to protect the borders, establish development projects at the source countries to curtail the inflow of migrants into Libya and afterwards to Europe. =Lana=
