President of High State Council Receives EU Ambassador.

Tripoli, 2 August 2017(Lana) The President of the High State Council Abdul Rahman Al Sweihli met at the Council headquarters here on Tuesday the Ambassador of the European Union Bettina Muscheidt and the accompanying delegation. Muscheidt renewed EU support for stability in Libya and said the EU is united in this. Muscheidt highlighted the Paris communiqué and the positive provisions it contained to resolve the crisis in Libya. On his part the President of the Presidency Council called on the EU mission in Libya to return to work in Libya, saying there was a need to determine the aspects of partnership between Libya and the EU. He stressed the need for lifting the embargo on arms exports to Libya, and assisting the Libyan Coast Guard forces to confront traffickers. He also called for Libya's southern borders to be secured because from there illegal migrants come. =Lana=
